We rolled out some site updates today. There are too many changes to list them all, and most of our regular users will likely not notice most of the changes anyhow. The main point of today’s update is to make navigation to, and around the various sections of the site easier for everyone.
I have noticed lots of people asking for the link to the “new chat”, so now there is a link on most of the chat pages directing everyone to the peeps cams chat area. This should make it easier for some to see, but also easier to tell others how to get to / find the ‘new chat’ – (look for the peeps cams chat link, top right of the page) – should work on most of the chat screens.
Over the years our web site has grown so much, and it’s kind of been done in piecemeal sections. This week I started taking a close look at how people may end up in one part of the site and not know how to get back to where they were. Now when people find themselves in the blog section, or the peeps section, there are links at the top of the page to get back to main pages of the site. The main pages of site now have more information and navigation links to the peeps social section, and the peeps cams chat page as well. This should make it easier for newer users to find our previously semi-hidden goodies, and easier for regular users to get to, and get back to other areas of the site.
We have more changes and updates in mind for the near future, including making the peeps cams / new chat registered users only. We will be dabbling with an on-site vacaroo kind of thing hopefully soon, and are considering rolling out our own pinterest type picture sharing section as well. Not sure how it’s all going to pan out, but we are putting some time and money into those areas to test out the possibilities. Of course we are also working on some upgrades to the new chat as well – although those are taking much more time to get deployed, so we will likely not see those updates for a few months.
Of course we are still listening to suggestions, and feedback from everyone. We can’t do everything that everyone wants, but the feedback and suggestions that people make give us some clues as to what we should trying to accomplish. I am considering setting up on site polls here to get some more focused suggestions, and, well a few other tech goodies I can’t quite talk about yet.
Anyhow, we are always working to make things better, and faster for everyone. Looking forward to continued expansion, and good times for all. I’ll keep ya updated when I can!
