I spent all night working on some tiny new emoticons tonight. Some of them came out good, and a few of them will be replaced, that’s a small issue I will try to work on this weekend. With the initial testing and chat system restarts, I started to notice a little or maybe big problem.
I am guessing it’s an issue with browser caching, or ISP caching, but some people are seeing the old set of emoticons, and some people will be seeing the new ones. This can cause some major mis-communication. Sorry folks, but I can’t think of any way to fix this. Petite was still seeing the old emoticons even after a browser restart and computer restart.
The big problem would be when someone seeing the old set of emoticons sends a cup of coffee, and the other person with the new set of emoticons sees a dildo or ass or something else. This sucks, I am hoping that after like 24 hours everyone’s cache may be cleared and it won’t continue to be a problem. We’ll see I guess. In the meantime there may need to be some clarifications if you send or receive any of the smileys or other emoticons, people may be trying to say one thing and you may be seeing another entirely.
Doing an update right now – adding in the ice cream, and the geep, and changing a few others, and changing the order a little bit. Sorry about the confusion, once we get a firm list it’s gonna be very cool I think. I am guessing there may be some little issues with this current batch of smileys, but I gotta get some sleep. I’ll try to polish things up over the next couple of days.

And I do love a lot of the new icons, but I guess I worry some of the guys are just going to talk in penis and dildo talk now!!!!

So far I have had people ask for the ice cream back, and the geep. Someone else brought up the issue of the :p and ;p being the same – had not noticed that before – have to look into that.
If you are still seeing the older emoticons you can update to the new emoticons by
1) Closing all but one browser.
2) Deleting all cookies.
3) Restarting your computer.
When you return to chat you should be able to see the new emoticons, if not you may want to try the process over again making sure delete all the cookies in all of your internet browsers.
Some systems may need to delete “temporary internet files” – norton security suite will do this easily. None of these may work if your ISP has cached our old java stuff – but hopefully those ISP caches will clear in 24 hours.
