Java exploit / Hack – very important info today

Yesterday I was reading about a very dangerous new Java exploit that is known around the hacker communities around the world, and this is VERY serious. So serious in fact,  that today the US government is suggesting everyone disable their java on their systems until an update patch is released from Oracle.

Hopefully there will be an update to Java in the next couple of days to fix this serious issue.

The bad news is that you need Java running in order to use our free sex chat rooms.

If you are reading this info from the link posted in our chat room, then you ARE vulnerable to being hacked right this minute. (Unless by the time you are reading this the update patch has been released, you have updated Java after Jan 12, 2012 – and you have uninstalled all the older Java installs (a separate, important process that everyone should do right now anyways.))

Do NOT click any links posted in the chat, do not visit other web sites, do not check your facebook, do not click an ad to collect $200 with your Java still enabled on your system. Doing so may send your computer in the hands of some very bad people, and will not even know it.

I noticed one of our computers that Java has been auto-disabled in Firefox, and this may happen for you if you are lucky.

What is Nash doing?

I disabled Java in my internet explorer, and I am using that to surf the web. I have re-enabled Java with my Firefox browser in order to use the chat rooms, but I will not click ANY links from the chat room, and I will not be surfing facebook, or my favorite porn sites, or ANY OTHER WEB SITE with my java enabled browser at the moment.

Should you do that? Maybe, if you must get into our chat rooms, it’s an option. Just understand that you will be vulnerable to an attack that will allow evil people to take total control of your computer, and likely infect the other computers attached to your network, if you click any links, and go to any other web site.

You could get infected by simply visiting another web site with java enabled right now.

Links on Facebook could have bad code, and even advertisements served by other sites can have malicious code inside that allow criminals to take over your computer, steal all of your pictures and files, take over your other networked computers, and use your computer to attack other people’s systems.

In short, it is suggested that everyone disable Java, and to be really safe I would uninstall it completely through add / remove programs.

Our chat room itself is safe. The java code that runs our chat system does not have any malicious code in it, but you may have friends (or enemies) send you a link, that goes to a site that has ads from a bad guy, and it takes over your system. Even if the web site is not evil, the advertisements that the web site runs could have the evil code in it – so porn sites that have ads, like yourhottube.com – might be good web sites, with no evil intent, but there is nothing stopping the advertising company that runs ads around the videos from putting bad shit on your system.

So what if you disable / uninstall Java and there is not update / patch from oracle for the next several days, and you need to connect with your friends here? You can still send messages through the sex chat peeps section without Java enabled.

Please let this be a wake up call for everyone to ALSO update your antivirus / spyware / and firewall system. Even if you have up to date AV software, you can be hacked with this latest exploit, but if you have AV software that is not up to date, then you run the risk of other bad stuff taking over your system in similar ways. If you do not have updated AV software, you can get a really good one for free from Microsoft.

This is a quick post to get the info out as fast a possible – I have not re-read and edited for 100% accuracy, please do your own research and thinking on this. The link to the NBC news blog article should help – I will update later.

  1. Enjoy the free erotic sex chat; blank white pg! Never installed Java. Will I need Java in a few days or will the site be available without Java as it has been? Not very computer literate so much here is over my poor head_older guy you know!!

    1. andu432 – I am getting a similar no connection error. Not sure if this is a problem with Java, or if something is going on with our web server. Checking into it now.

  2. Thanks Nash for sharing the info..will uninstall java and install new version..will share it to peeps on thingy 🙂

  3. I would uninstall all the old versions, and leave the newest version (even though it is currently vulnerable) – but make sure Java is disabled in the browser you use (IE, Firefox, Chrome) – that way you would not get hit by anything when surfing with that browser, and an icon would still popup prompting you to install the new version when it is available, as it would still be on your system. Know that if you uninstall all of them including the latest version, you will not be able to connect to the chat rooms, and you will not be notified of the new update / patch version.

On most systems it will be under control panel -> add/remove programs –> Java… there might be some in the Alpha list as “Sun Java” or something like that..

How to disable Java on your system, or disable Java from just one of your browsers via PC Magazine.

However if you follow the PC Mag instructions, you still need to check and make sure ALL old version or uninstalled. (My computer downstairs had 7 different versions of Java installed – even though I updated Java each time it asked, most updates did not remove the old versions, which creates a major security flaw) – This is from way back when Java was owned by Sun Microsystems… I think it’s Oracle that controls it now.
