moving up june 22

This process actually started a little while back, and possible some of our visitors noticed some weird things the past couple weeks, a bit into late May. Sorry for any missed hiccups and delays!

We have been moving all the things to newer and faster web servers this year. It started with the revamped xirta chat, and the past couple weeks I started moving the main web site, the site blog, the peeps section and all the things over to a new, faster place.

It’s all coming together bit by bit, and it’s much more functional early morn as of June 2.

The colors are not finished and several other things. I am not simply copying over everything. Many components that run our systems are being rebuilt from the ground up. Completely new chunks of code, and then I am going through and re-modding the fresh code to get more in style with our vibe.

This is taking longer than it could, partially because some of the code bases that our systems run on have had many upgrades and are doing styles and things much different than the years past, so there is more poking around trying to find where to tweak this and enhance that.

I love this stuff, and I know there are folks out in the world that enjoy at least some of what we do around here, so I am happy to keep making it better and better.

It’s not done yet, but if you see things that are missing, out of whack, broken, etc – let me know! Some things are already on my todo list – but I could be missing something that you have seen and need to add it, so let me know in the comments on this post or via pm/dm via my peeps profile if you are registered.

I am hoping to get this faster web server setup done within the next week or so, and then get back to adding more updates to the Xirta chat rooms system.

It’s all a work in progress, and I appreciate the immense amount of patience our long time users have had as we dealt with the growing / slowing / breaking pains of the past year or more.

I’m still trying to make it better and I think it’s starting to pay off – woo hoo!
