Tumblr decides to ban porn – you can export your blog and import it here or elsewhere

So tumblr finally showed the true colors and went deep with the latest censorship announcement. All porn to be stopped in less than two weeks.

I logged into to tumblr and found the info on how to export my blog, pics and such. It took hours for it to finish collecting all my stuff and make it available as a download.

You may be able to import your tumblr blog into another platform like a wordpress site or wordpress multi-site, even without downloading a backup – but only if the API thing is working at the time, so I would start the backup / download process as soon as possible, and then move on the API import and see if that works.

Selling your privacy, giving your rights – instagram

Parts of Instagram’s terms of Service were broken down into simple English by a lawyer. It took hours, and they did it for the children. Tests show they don’t understand the terms of use, it’s too complicated. I’m betting they don’t understand the basic tech enough either, and they are the lucky ones growing up with it.

I don’t think most of the popular apps today are any different, and I would love to see this same breakdown done with other apps’s terms and permissions, by a professional, like it was done here.

Friend Finder Network, Cams dot com registered users info leaked

Reading about a recent hack / data breach and leak from the friend finder network, which includes cams.com and adult friend finder (both sponsors of our systems) – and others. This is another leak of registered user information that includes perhaps 400 million users – this is different than the hack and leak of data that network had in May of 2015 that leaked 3 1/2 million user credentials. nude-dude-email-exposed-1j

I don’t have all the details at this time or know exactly what was leaked and what was not. Apparently some of the info like passwords for some people was encrypted with a crappy method that makes cracking that encryption frivolously easy. It appears that 99% of the passwords have already been cracked.

Enslaved smart devices fucking up your sex chats

Smart TVs, internet connected refrigerators, remote view-able security cameras, net connected baby monitors, DVRs, Voice over IP / Internet Telephony systems; you, your family, and your neighbors have millions of these devices and many of them are acting as attack zombies.

Our chats are not under direct attack, but the amount of internet congestion that is being created with these latest attacks against other people are slowing down huge chunks of the internet, and that is a problem for our chat systems that need to have a constant on / consistent connection in order to function properly.

Too Lez for the lobby?

Recent discussion in the lobby about being “too lesbian in the lobby” turned into quite an interesting debate about several different things. sexy-girls-extreme-lingerie-whip-cuffsOf course the back and forth in the chat room (at least from this one session that I got a chat log from) was pretty heated and all over the place. There were several good points made on all sides of this issue, and a couple of things that should be considered outside the discussion.

privacy policy update mar 16

Added some additional information to the sites privacy policy today. Also updated some of the info on the privacy info page made for the peeps / mv-chat systems on that page.

Read the added info on the privacy policy page here: http://www.sexchatsexchat.com/html/sex-chat-privacy.html#03222016

Tried to answer some QnA and about registering the peeps section and using the mv-chat here: http://www.sexchatsexchat.com/peeps/peeps-registering-info/

and then realized we should add that info to the main privacy page, and got to writing, so I added a bit more info on the main privacy page.

Flash Exploit and Firefox is Blocking the Chat Rooms Again

There have been several “zero day” flash player exploits released in the past week or so, and today I find that firefox is automatically blocking flash from running on web sites I visit.

Some will remember a while back when firefox had an update that broke our chat rooms for a while, but this current issue is completely different.

Naughty fonts, new graphics, and privacy

I’ve been working on some small graphics updates which turned into a much larger project than initially planned.

Word around the web dev community is that it’s best practice to make some graphics using “web fonts” instead of just using a jpg or gif image – so I embarked on the process to convert some of the little graphics that I think will make our menus a little sexier, and to convert our new logo style into an actual system font style instead of relying on a picture created in photoshop.

Sex Chat Space is Down – but not out, for long

After two weeks of debating the whole “shutdown the new chat” – I worked out a deal to keep the NC up and running. As I started to pack up the files to move to a new web server, weird problems started to happen. I spent about 12 hours trying to fix things, and then brought in another server tech on the issue. This led to other issues, and other server techs coming in to try to fix the weird problems we started having with the site. After tons of time spent, Sex Chat Space is down. Don’t worry – it’s not out!
